Sold out shows, good reviews, and good food! A huge thanks to all those who supported!
Must give a special shout out to “Urban Noodle” which became a favorite cast hang out after many shows because of the amazing service, food, and happy hour after 11pm! Ada and Arlene came out to greet the cast on our last night there and provided us with complementary drinks! Get the Dan Dan Noodles and give Chillito a huge tip because he’s super cool.

Lured to this country with promises of achieving the American dream, these Thai workers instead found themselves engulfed in the harsh reality of the garment industry.

“Lady of Joy” Reading, a new musical by C.Y. Lee

C.Y. author of “Flower Drum Song” has a new musical based on his book “Days of the Tong Wars”.  Lyrics are by Sam Kunin and music and additional lyrics by Larissa Lam.

The reading on March 25th, 2010 was directed by Mike Hagiwara, with the cast of Marcus Choi, Alden Villaverde, Elizabeth Pan, Mike Dalager, Diana Toshiko, Shun Lee Fong, and Tony Lam.  Singing voices by Larissa Lam, Mike Hagiwara, Reggie DeLeon, Evan D’Angeles, Shun Lee Fong, and Josephine Kao.

Award-winning Nisei playwright, poet and author Hiroshi Kashiwagi’s two-act play focuses on a young Nisei couple torn apart over the infamous loyalty questions #27 & #28 imposed upon them at the Tule Lake concentration camp during WWII. Forty years later, we meet Tak and Grace again, and learn how these questions and the decisions they made back then affected them for the rest of their lives.
